Tiramisu birthday cake

I am not one who will usually celebrate birthdays.

Every year is pretty much the same, going out with a group of friends for dinner and that’s it. No fanciful parties, no popping of champagnes – nothing exciting. Birthday is the perfect excuse to pig out and have a feast; all I need is a simple dinner with the people I like.

Presents are the best part about a birthday. On the pretext of being nicer to myself, I took a stroll to Funan and bought a Nikon 50mm f1.4 lens.

What started out as a dinner at Jones the Grocer last night ended up as a disaster with overpriced food and ridiculously tiny portions. Part two of the night was spent at Oriole Cafe for after-dinner/supper/whatever you call it. My awesome friends surprised me with a tiramisu birthday cake, and I dutifully finished three slices on my own!

If Sunday is meant for Brunch, then Saturday will surely be made for Dim Sum. But nobody is stopping you from having both dim sum and brunch! I haven’t make any reservations for tonight; a dinner buffet sounds good, I will keep you guys updated!

    Happy Birthday LIC, went to Jones the Grocer for brunch yesterday after reading your post. The sausages were a little too tough for old stooges like me but overall, the environment is pretty relaxed =D
