Welcome to the magical world of Digital Single lens Relax (DSLR) camera!

“Did you…?”

“Really..?”

“Am I thinking what you’re thinking…?”

Yes! You are absolutely correct! LIC did it! I finally brought my new love, my first DSLR home!

Come on, read more and enter the magical world of DSLR!

The Nikon D40! Say good-bye to my old Canon IXUS 60 who has been a loyal friend for the past one year. But from now on, its my new love all the way.

Yay! I still got quite a few posts which i haven got the time to write yet, the pictures are taken with the old one, and naturally it’s not in the DSLR league.

I still need some time to adjust my DSLR’s setting, and to get to know how to use the new camera. There are a lot more settings and functions in DSLR, think aperture, shutter-speed and all that stuff which i need to get knowing them first.

Nikon D40 is one of the smallest and most compact DSLRs around, but i’m feeling the weight from carrying it around already! Now LIC go out must always carry a bag, otherwise how to travel around with DSLR?

Claudia’s D40 that i took a shot while we were at peach garden

I brought the Nikon D40 partly because of budget constraint, at the entry level for DSLR there is the Nikon D40, D60 and Canon 400D and the new 450D. Canon’s one are all over 1k, while D60 is at $950 but i felt that the upgrade from D40 to D60 isn’t that great.

And Claudia is still taking great shots with her D40, so i thought Nikon D40 for $749 should suffice for my level now, until i got the capacity and need for a upgrade in lens or DSLR body.

Even though i’m still playing around with it, and do not know how to fully utilise its power yet, but i must say the current shots that i took are already better than my old ones. So keep a lookout for them!

Oh ya, i’m using the kit lens, AF-S DX 18-55mm. And at the moment, my level isn’t there yet, so my hand keeps on shaking and the pictures came out blurred.

Looking forward to the many many more shots that LIC will be taking with the D40!
