Playing the Nintendo Wii console, having a big television screen is definitely a bonus, and luckily for us, Steward’s TV is certainly in the “big” league. We went to his house after lunch at Pine Valley. I know this post has totally nothing to do with food, but just bear with me for a while. I thought the Wii is quite interesting, so here goes this post

The Nintendo Wii is really small, it looks somewhat bigger in this picture. Its really convenient to carry around, Claudia just put it in the bag on the car and tagged it along.

The first game that we tried was the bowling, there’s two remote control one each for both players. Its real easy to control it as well, hold the control up, press the button, den swing yr arms, almost exactly like the real bowling. I got strike a few times!

The tennis is cool to play also, you must time your “swinging” so as to hit the ball.

The golf was difficult to play, we watched Jon helplessly hit the ball around when its very close to the hole.

The boxing was fun to watch too, fun as in to watch the player playing boxing, he has to hold up two controls, one as the right arm and one as left arm, and keep boxing away. Watching Polarbear play was so funny!

Cooking Mama! At first i thought the game was pretty lame, after playing its still lame, but real funny man, everyone desperately reading the instruction shown to guide the method of cooking, then everyone busy swinging their control to cut, stir, cook the ingredients.

The last game we tried was the Mario Party 8. This game is damn fun to play with at first, but after a while reality sinks in. It takes really long to finish one round, and we set the game to finish at 8 rounds, so after playing 4 rounds we quit. Its a console board game where you control your character to win coins, candies, and proceed onto the board to reach the final boss to win the game.

Conclusion:

Although the Wii is pretty fun to play, and you can exercise at the same time, i pretty much doubt i will get the console. No time to play, and the price at $600, i rather buy something else, like a DSLR for example.

Nonetheless, playing the Wii, and laughing at each other for our stupid action swinging the control frantically at times not knowing what to do to control the game. It was real fun, and the whole afternoon was spend away in laughters. Yebber outing is always fun, do sign up for Yebber, and join us on our future outing! After “gaming”, i went to Paragon for dinner at Bakerzin, and thats the story for another time : )

  • Hi! (Disclaimer: I’m a Nintendo fan.. so I might be biased!) I have a wii at home and although I only have time to play it during long school breaks (June and End of Year) I really loved it! I love Super Mario Galaxy and I’m hoping to get Okami (Wii). But one gripe is that I can’t connect the Wii to my HDMI screen since it uses component cables.. :(

A DS is also great fun on the go if you’re not into consoles.

  • Wah cool. I wish I have Wii at home. :)
