MINT (Moment of Imagination and Nostalgia with Toys) Museum of Toys is the world’s first purpose-built miseum for toys. Located at Seah Street (across from Raffles Hotel), the MINT building exhibited over 4 levels of toys which originates from over 25 countries such as Germany, Japan, United Kingdom, United States and even Bulgaria.
Yebbers 1st Anniversary Party was held at MINT museum on 28th March (i know i know its almost two weeks already!). Yebbers, bloggers, guests and friends gathered for a night of fun, games, food and great company.
The event started at 7pm and lasted all the way until 10pm. I got there around 6pm to help out. All right, I didn’t exactly helped out, the rest did much more work, but it was fun!
Just in case you haven’t heard of Yebber;
Yebber.com is a Singapore Lifestyle guide for everyone. You get to either read or write reviews on shopping, services, foods, restaurants, places and anything that is lifestyle oriented. Best of all, the reviews are written by you! And that’s what the Yebber community is about: Real people visiting real places and sharing their genuine and honest experiences with the community. So whether you have something good or not so good to say about a place or service, Yebber.com is your outlet to share!
Well, the main reason I joined Yebber is because it provides me with a platform to post my reviews on the food places that i went to, to share with more readers my experience, and at the same time i can also read about what other Yebbers (people who write reviews on Yebber are call Yebbers) reviews, so that it can help me know more of a restaurant or place which i haven’t been to yet.
Furthermore, the community at Yebber is very active and fun, Yebbers chat in the shoutbox all day long, and we often meet up for Yebbers outing which is a whole lot of fun!! So join Yebber now if you have not, don’t wait! Yes join now!
Just for the record, yours truly is Yebber’s Ambassador. Yebber chose 5 Yebber Ambassador, Polarbear (Mervin), Trumpet (Andrea), Bobo (Petrina), Claud (Claudia), and ladyironchef. So you must be wondering what the hell is a Yebber Ambassador, actually nothing much. We just get to go to nice nice restaurants to eat for FREE, and the requirement is to write a review. Seriously no big deal : )
All righty, back to MINT, you can’t expect people to just go to the MINT museum on a empty stomach right? Fret not, for there is the MINT Cafe at the basement, Asia’s very first toy-themed cafe, which offers a wide selection of internation and local cuisine bound to meet everyone’s taste (at least thats what they claimed, i haven’t eaten there yet, so don’t quote me)
There are four different themes in the MINT Museum, with level 2 showing Collectables, level 3 Childhood Favourites, level 4 Characters, and level 5 Outerspace theme.
The Yebber party is at level 3 (childhood favourites), the place is quite spacious and easily accomodate the 50 people attending the event. Its $30 for per person, but since I’m Yebbers Ambassador, I went for free! See the many benefits of Yebber!
Anyway MINT is really quite a place to hold events, i guess it’ll be cool to hold one’s birthday party there.
Admission for adult to MINT is $15 per person, while admission plus tour guide will be $30. Betty Boop, Batman, Astroboy, Mickey Mouse, Flash Gordon, Green Hornet, The Beatles, Golliwogs, Ultraman, Matchbox Cars, Star Wars and the list goes on! I guess if you’re really interested, its worth it to get a guide because they can really tell you all the history about the toys.
Mesclun Salad
Crabmeat Linguini
Well I didn’t have such a clear shot on the Crabmeat linguini, but do not, i repeat do not let the pictures fooled you. The Linguini was actually quite good!
Parmesan Crusted Chicken
I had totally no idea what’s Parmesan, but all the same the Parmesan Crusted Chicken was tasty!
Seafood Platter (Calamari, Dory Fillet, & Scallops)
The Calamari was good, the dory fillet was passable, i didn’t try the scallops though.
Salmon Cream Bruschetta. The names are all quite fancy and long, i guess a name must sounds nice to attract our attention. The toppings goes well together with the bruschetta.
Wild Mushrooms, Tomato Checca. I liked the tomato dices checca, the fillings are just nice, not too much not too little.
Assortment of cakes
Before everybody started eating, Yebbers and bloggers were busy taking photos, well Yebbers need to write their reviews yes : )
After the guests had quite a comfortable servings of food, the night had just began! First up is Bingo game, its very fun watching for the numbers poping out, and there’s two prize sponser by Creative, lady’s luck was not with me : (
I didn’t have much of the food to be honest, was busy talking, or rather what you call socialising and mingling with all the guests there. It was quite fun because there’re all sorts of people around, and it was very interesting to chat with them.
And in the first place I wasn’t expecting much from the food because you know the perception of toy museum doesn’t really goes along with good food. But the food actually turns out to be better than i expected.
After two rounds of Bingo, we continued our small talks, around 930pm, the event was reaching its finale, the lucky draw everyone was waiting for. With 18 awesome prizes to give away, from webcams, magazine subscriptions, computer mouses, Creative Zen Stone, and the 4GB Creative Zen for first prize!
Well as usual I didn’t won anything, lady’s luck always abandoned me. But it was okay, because the fun we had at Yebbers Party more than make up for it! Yebber’s event is always fun, my very first one was at Al Den Pronto, then we went to Claudia’s home during CNY, and on the last day of CNY we went to Hotpot for Yebber outing. And nothing has been short on fun.
So after reading this long post on Yebbers Anniversary Party, if you are interested to join us, you can always contact me at bradleyfk@gmail.com for more information, or simply go to Yebber.com to sign up! Hope to see you at the next outing yay! Cheers!
